Job summary

GFT seeks an emerging Sr. Highway/Roadway Project Engineer to lead design concepts and deliver roadway projects in the Midwest from Kansas City, St. Louis, Wichita, or Omaha.

The role requires a PE license in KS/MO/NE and a BS in Civil Engineering, with 10+ years in highway design and experience with state and local projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Active PE license in KS, MO, or NE; additional licensure is a plus.
• 10+ years of engineering experience with broad transportation design knowledge.
• Experience with State DOT and/or local municipality/county design projects.
• Proficient in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of project design concepts and criteria.
• Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate large engineering assignments.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide QA/QC reviews and manage roadway personnel on projects.
• Develop scopes of work and cost estimates; manage budgets and schedules.
