Job summary

GFT is seeking an emerging Highway/Roadway Project Engineer to support its Transportation group across Kansas City, St. Louis, Wichita or Omaha.

The role follows a hybrid model with at least three days on-site, delivering resilient, multimodal roadway design and construction solutions. Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited), PE license in KS/MO/NE, and 8+ years of transportation design experience, including state DOT or local projects, with MicroStation/OpenRoads

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Active PE license in KS, MO, or NE; additional state licensure is a plus.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in transportation design, highway design, and related projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway/highway design tasks from concepts through final design and construction support.
• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and bid packages.
• Coordinate with client staff, project managers, and subconsultants; mentor junior engineers.
