State of Florida Department of Transportation is seeking an Inspector III in Transportation Operations at 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville. You will conduct field surveys, manage data for Roadway Characteristics Inventory, and assist in maintenance contract activities.

The role requires inspection experience, knowledge of engineering tools, and strong communication. A valid driver license and safety certifications are required; opportunity to grow through training and professional development

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 12 months of infrastructure design, construction, or maintenance experience, or an Associate degree or higher.
• Valid Class E driver license and acceptable driving record per policy.
• Must complete required safety and technical certifications within specified timeframes.

Responsabilités

• Conduct surveys of signs, guardrail, and attenuators and inventory roadway items in the Roadway Characteristics Inventory system.
• Review maintenance contracts, prepare specifications, and validate payments to contractors.
• Perform complex plan interpretation and inspections to ensure compliance with FDOT standards.
• Operate MMS/RCI data input and generate MMS reports for management review.
• Coordinate with contractors, permittees, and engineers throughout project life.
