Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer to support transportation and infrastructure projects in the Orlando region, with oversight and construction engineering inspection responsibilities. This role requires leadership and technical expertise to ensure contract requirements and schedules are met.

You will act as Engineer of Record for select projects, develop cost estimates, mentor junior staff, and communicate with clients and stakeholders while complying with FDOT criteria.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• US Citizenship required
• Familiarity with FDOT plan production and design criteria
• PE license in Florida or reciprocity within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical advisor for projects and team members
• Provides specialized input to studies and design work
• Develops study and design procedures for high-quality, cost-effective work
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and provides constructive feedback
• Serve as an Engineer of Record for small to mid-sized transportation projects
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical effort
• Applies expertise to PS&E packages
• Performs quality control reviews of design calculations and documentation
• Prepares and reviews technical specification sections
• Provides input to budgets and schedules
• Mentors junior engineers and supports professional development
• Manages client and stakeholder communications regarding technical matters
• Ensures FDOT design criteria compliance
• Leads small to mid-sized project teams
• Performs independent technical reviews
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement
