Job summary
ELEMENT Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Roadway Group Manager to lead our Roadway Design Team in Tampa, FL. This role oversees technical leadership, project delivery, staffing, and business development while upholding quality and client service.
You will lead design of transportation projects, act as Engineer of Record for FDOT projects, mentor staff, manage workload, and collaborate across offices to grow the group.

Qualifications
- PE license in Florida is required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive roadway design experience.
- Experience leading roadway design teams and supervising engineering staff.
- Experience as Engineer of Record for FDOT transportation projects.
- Strong knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, Specifications, and AASHTO criteria.
- Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Tampa Roadway Design Team with technical guidance, staffing, and resources.
- Serve as Lead Technical Engineer and Engineer of Record for roadway projects.
- Oversee project delivery focusing on quality, schedule, budget, and client expectations.
- Monitor backlog and utilization to support sustainable growth.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and pursue marketing opportunities.
- Collaborate across offices and disciplines to balance workload.
