Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Experienced Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team in Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC. The role focuses on roadway design from feasibility through final design, with opportunities to lead projects and grow into a Project Manager role.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in civil engineering, 4+ years roadway design experience, and a Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of relevant roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design from feasibility studies through final design.
• Develop plans, specs, and estimates for transportation projects.
• Produce roadway alignments, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and 3D models.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design reports.
• Develop and review plan sets and design documents.
• Utilize MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and plans production.
• Participate in design meetings and coordinate with project team members.
• Serve as roadway task or project lead, with potential for PM growth.
