Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer for our Transportation Division in North Carolina. The role supports design leadership across Raleigh, Charlotte, or Winston-Salem offices and interfaces with municipal clients and NCDOT to deliver complex roadway projects.

Responsibilities include managing design, QC, and coordination with design teams, mentoring staff, and facilitating client meetings. A strong focus on pre-construction PM and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in roadway or bridge design.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• NC PE license required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Experience in project management and design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.
• Experience with NCDOT and NC municipalities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and professional design services for transportation projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and NCDOT.
• Manage design, provide senior-level designs, and QC for roadway geometry, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing.
• Coordinate design development and provide technical direction to other staff.
• Mentor civil design staff and lead project meetings with clients.
• Create, maintain, and monitor scopes, fees, schedules, and risk registers.
