Job summary

STV in Franklin or Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Full-Time Senior Roadway Engineer. The role focuses on technical leadership, guiding complex roadway design, mentoring staff, and engaging with public-sector clients on high-visibility transportation programs.

Responsibilities include project management, QC of roadway design, and coordination with clients and marketing teams. 10+ years' experience and TN PE or ability to obtain within 6 months are required; TDOT design experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• PE licensure in TN or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• TDOT design experience preferred.
• Experience with highways, intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.
• Experience or familiarity with ORD and Geopak.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and professional design services for municipal, local government, and TDOT transportation projects.
• Manage design, provide senior-level functional designs, and QC roadway geometry, drainage, work zone traffic control, markings, and signing.
• Interact with client management teams, other engineers, and marketing teams.
• Coordinate design development and provide technical direction to staff.
• Coordinate with design team to meet quality, schedule, and budget.
• Assist with development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Lead project meetings with STV and clients.
