Job summary

WSP USA in Minneapolis seeks a Senior Consultant Civil Engineer to join our Transportation and Infrastructure team. The hybrid role is based out of the Minneapolis office and focuses on roadway, transportation, and infrastructure design and project management for state DOTs, counties, and municipalities.

You will lead design teams, prepare plans and specifications, develop cost estimates, and manage project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate engineering experience in roadway or civil infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota, or ability to obtain within six months.
• Strong collaboration and participation in WSP's culture and values.
• Knowledge of roadway engineering principles and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist with plan drawings, specifications, design reports, bid quantities, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with junior, mid-level, and senior professionals across disciplines.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges in design and construction.
• Manage project budgets and schedules for successful delivery.
• Mentor and guide early-career engineers and staff.
• Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and support development.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and visualizations.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, quality standards, and record retention.
• Support project development, planning, and scope definition.
