Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation division in North Carolina. You will lead design and project management for municipal, local, and NCDOT transportation projects, ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget.

The role requires extensive roadway/bridge design experience, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, and a NC PE license (or eligibility to obtain within 6 months).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in roadway or bridge design.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• NC PE license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, bike/ped facilities.
• Experience with NCDOT and NC municipalities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and professional design services for transportation projects.
• Lead design teams, QC roadway geometry and details, drainage, markings, and signing.
• Coordinate with client management and other disciplines; lead meetings.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Monitor scopes, fees, schedules, staffing, risk, and QC records.
• Mentor junior design staff and liaise with practice and office leadership.

Job description

STV has an immediate need in either our Raleigh, Charlotte or Winston-Salem North Carolina offices for a **Senior Roadway Engineer** in our Transportation division. The successful candidate will:* Provide project management and professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and NCDOT.* Manage design, provide senior-level functional designs, and provide QC for roadway geometry and details, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure.* Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams* Design experience using MicroStation, Geopak* Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff* Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget* Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports* Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV’s growth.* Facilitate and lead project meetings both within STV and with clients.* Create, maintain, and monitor scopes, fees, schedules, staffing projections, risk registers, sub agreements, QC records, deliverable submittals, invoices.* Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and client project managers* Mentor supporting Civil design staffThe ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a comprehensive understanding of pre-construction project management of roadway and bridge projects.Qualifications:* A minimum of 10+ years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design or bridge design* Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required* NC PE license is required or ability to obtain within 6 months* Experience in project management and design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.* Experience with NCDOT and other NC municipalities* Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction.Compensation Range:$139,693.44 - $159,649.65**STV offers the following benefits** • Health insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable) • Disability insurance • Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment • 401(k) Plan • Retirement Counseling • Employee Assistance Program • Paid Time Off • Paid Holidays • Back-Up Dependent Care • Parental Leave • Continuing Education Program • Professional Licensure and Society Memberships STV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
