Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Senior Roadway Design Engineer in Houston, TX, within a hybrid work model. You will lead highway projects, manage design teams, and coordinate with clients to ensure quality, schedule, and profitability.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and collaboration across Arcadis offices. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of highway design (TxDOT) experience, Texas PE, and precertification, with strong communication and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of highway design experience, including TxDOT projects.
• 3+ years of roadway design lead experience on TxDOT projects.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and client-facing work.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct the development of final design construction plans for highway and roadway projects.
• Lead, manage, and perform assignments to advance schematic design through preliminary and final design.
• Prepare roadway design using local or AASHTO standards and create plan & profile sheets, typical sections, estimates.
• Must possess ability to lead and manage all phases of a project design.
• Develop project scopes and budgets, mentor staff, coordinate with clients, and schedule work across offices.
• Assist on other projects and collaborate with other Arcadis offices as needed.
