Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Senior Roadway Design Engineer to join its transportation team in Columbus, Ohio. This role focuses on leading design and delivery of roadway infrastructure with emphasis on ODOT and City of Columbus projects.

The ideal candidate has a PE license and strong experience in OpenRoads Designer, roundabout design, and drainage. You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multiple disciplines to deliver quality projects.

Qualifications

8–12+ years of roadway/transportation engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
ODOT roadway design experience required.
OpenRoads Designer experience required.

Responsibilities

Lead and support the design and delivery of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects.
Develop roadway plans, alignments, profiles, grading and related design elements.
Apply ODOT design standards, specifications and requirements throughout delivery.
Utilize OpenRoads Designer for roadway design and plan development.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors and other disciplines.
Support projects through design development, reviews and construction documentation.
Perform technical reviews and ensure designs meet standards and quality.
Contribute to storm sewer, drainage and related roadway design.
Support intersections and roundabout projects where applicable.
Communicate with clients, agencies and stakeholders as required.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Assist with project schedules and budgets.
