Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking Senior Roadway Design Engineers to lead highway and roadway projects in the Nashville area. This hybrid role allows remote work 2 days per week while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, and technicians.

Requirements include a BS Civil Engineer with 6 years of related experience and US citizenship. A PE license and MDOT/TN project experience are preferred. The position emphasizes client coordination and design delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• BS Civil Engineer or related field with 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience and/or education.
• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects.
• Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight/support.
• Plan and manage tasks and team members.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub consultants in the various assignments.
• Design roadway geometrics.
• Prepare Maintenance of Traffic plans.
• Develop Right-of-way and Construction plans.
• Design erosion and sedimentation control measures.
• Conduct quality control reviews of design deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Participate in project meetings and presentations.
• Contribute to proposal development and cost estimations.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
• Manage client relationships and support business development efforts.
