Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking Senior Roadway Design Engineers to lead highway and roadway projects in the Nashville area. This hybrid role allows remote work 2 days per week while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, and technicians.

Requirements include a BS Civil Engineer with 6 years of related experience and US citizenship. A PE license and MDOT/TN project experience are preferred. The position emphasizes client coordination and design delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• BS Civil Engineer or related field with 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience and/or education.
• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects.
• Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

• Design roadway geometrics.
• Prepare Maintenance of Traffic plans.

• Conduct quality control reviews of design deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Participate in project meetings and presentations.
• Contribute to proposal development and cost estimations.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
• Manage client relationships and support business development efforts.

Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking Senior Roadway Design Engineers to join a dynamic and highly technical team of planners, engineers, and technicians in the Nashville area office. As a Senior Roadway Design Engineer, you will lead highway and roadway design projects for a variety of clients in public and private industries. You will also have the opportunity to be part of cutting‑edge design projects that utilize the latest technologies for improving all modes of transportation.This is a Hybrid schedule with the opportunity to work remotely 2 days a week.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer License
• Project Management experience – personnel, budget, and client management
• 10+ years of roadway design experience
• Projects with TDOT, TN municipalities, or other state DOTs
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment
• MicroStation/GeoPak and/or OpenRoads or similar design applications
• Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn
