LJB Inc. is seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice in Charlotte, NC.
The role combines hands-on roadway design with client coordination and mentoring of junior engineers across traditional and design-build projects. The ideal candidate will hold a civil engineering degree, be eligible for a North Carolina PE, and bring 10–20 years of transportation experience to deliver safe, cost-effective infrastructure that serves communities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice in our Charlotte, NC office. We are open to fully remote candidates who are located in North Carolina.
Salary Range: $110,000-155,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on LJB’s expanding Transportation Practice by leading roadway design efforts that support safer, more connected communities. As a Roadway Design Engineer, you will collaborate with experienced technical teams, partner with public and private clients, and help deliver projects from early design through final bid packages. You will also play an important role in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continued growth of a practice with strong momentum and national reach.
