Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Roadway Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Group in Rancho Cordova, CA. The role focuses on inspection of asphalt paving and traffic control on federally funded projects, with a proactive approach to solve field issues and keep work moving.

Candidates should have 6+ years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication skills. An associate degree is preferred but not required; driving is required with a clean record.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of roadway construction inspection experience in California.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred but not required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of Caltrans specs and HMA testing is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect asphalt paving/HMA overlays and traffic control.
• Identify field issues and propose practical solutions.
• Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, pay apps, change orders.
• Document field activities and coordinate with owner and contractor.
• Use MS Word/Excel for diaries and calculations.
