Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking experienced Construction Inspectors to support field and office inspection work in Southern California.

The role covers non-structural and structural construction, traffic control, CPP enforcement, and CPM scheduling analysis, with opportunities to coordinate with clients and residents. Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years of roadway inspection or 6–8+ years general construction, familiarity with Caltrans standards, and proficiency in MS Project and MS PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Highschool degree or GED is required.
• 3–5+ years roadway construction inspection experience preferred; broader construction background acceptable.
• Caltrans-related knowledge and regulatory familiarity are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily inspections and documentation of construction progress and safety.
• Coordinate with clients, owners, and contractors on site.
• Assist Resident Engineers with scheduling, change orders, and communications.
• Read and interpret project plans and specs.
• Ensure compliance with Caltrans standards and SWPPP requirements.
• Measure quantities and verify material certifications.
• Monitor road/bridge construction activities and report findings.
• Communicate with project team and provide recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
