Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Civil Project Manager to lead transportation projects, oversee design and scheduling, and ensure financial and schedule performance. You will coordinate with clients, regulators, and teams to deliver complex highway programs from planning through execution.

The role emphasizes client interaction, contract negotiations, mentorship, and adherence to PS&E processes within Texas. A PE license and 10+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS and/or MS in Civil Engineering
• 10+ years of engineering experience
• Highway/roadway design and project management experience
• Knowledge of Schematic and/or PS&E processes
• Excellent technical and interpersonal skills
• Strong project financial management and team management skills
• P.E. license in TX is required
• DOT experience is a plus but not a requirement
• Project Manager Professional certification is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of procured transportation projects
• Lead engineering design and coordinate with design staff on project components
• Interact with clients and perform project management tasks
• Schedule and coordinate project meetings with project teams, regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders
• Manage project production by tracking manhours, costs, and expenses
• Communicate project progress and status to senior management
• Identify new roadway and highway business opportunities
• Coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and external groups
• Promote the firm's capabilities and market its services
• Participate in project opportunity evaluation and consultant selection
• Prepare qualification and experience statements
• Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors
• Draft complex professional service agreements and addenda for senior management review
• Direct project teams and client compliance with contract terms
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual commitments
• Prepare project work plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Communicate plans to project team members
• Monitor and manage production for schedule, budget, and quality compliance
• Mentor others in their training and development
