Job summary

bp is seeking a Principal Facilities Engineer to support RNG plants remotely across a region, with up to 25% travel domestically. The role collaborates with electrical and controls teams, reviews plant projects, and drives safe, efficient operation of RNG facilities.

Requires a BS in Chemical Engineering or related field and 5+ years in natural gas processing or related industries. The position is office-based with remote capability and hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for operators and technicians across multiple operating RNG plants
• Act as a process safety leader for assigned sites, including participation in PHAs and use of the MOC process
• Optimize plant availability, methane recovery, and sales gas delivery
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment issues affecting plant performance
• Lead Root Cause analyses of events resulting in unplanned downtime
• Scope, design, and implement minor plant modifications through the MOC process
• Participate in design reviews for new plants in development
• Review major engineering submittals produced by 3rd party engineering contractors
