Job summary

KingRecruitingServices in Iowa seeks an experienced Electronics Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and analyze returned electronic products, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to test-system development. You will collaborate with product teams to improve designs and document procedures.

Responsibilities include repairing components, collecting data, and maintaining a repair database while supporting troubleshooting protocol development and mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Assoc. degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related training.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in component-level troubleshooting and repair.
• Soldering experience with fine-pitch SMT and through-hole PCB assemblies.
• Experience with microprocessor- and microcontroller-based products.
• Troubleshooting analog circuits.
• Experience with switching power supplies preferred.
• IPC soldering certification preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and use test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Ability to solder through-hole and fine-pitch SMD components.
• Lab safety knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and initiative.
• Teamwork and mentorship capabilities.
• Basic proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot failures and perform root-cause analysis on returned electronic products.
• Perform component-level repairs on returned devices.
• Collect repair data and maintain an accurate repair database.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians.
• Assist with the design, construction, and maintenance of test fixtures and systems, including hardware, software, and mechanical components.
• Support the development and documentation of troubleshooting protocols.
• Provide feedback to product development teams for design improvements and enhancements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
