Job summary

Pareto is seeking an experienced engineer to own RL environments from scoping through production release. You’ll bridge the gap between researchers and the engineering team, ensuring reliable, scalable environments that ship on schedule.

In this role you’ll use Python/TypeScript, containerized services, and cloud infrastructure to drive impact. You’ll influence the roadmap by translating lab needs into tangible improvements and training signals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production systems.
• Proficient in Python or TypeScript.
• Experience with containerized services (Docker).
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• US-based with ability to travel to the Bay Area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own the RL environments end to end, from problem scope to production release.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineering to translate training goals into buildable specs.
• Maintain production health by investigating failures and ensuring reliability.
• Leverage the platform to streamline builds, releases, and CI gates.
• Provide signal back to product and help shape the roadmap based on lab needs.
