Pareto AI in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced engineer to own RL environments end to end, from scoping with researchers to shipping production-ready solutions.

You will build the images and tools, write graders, manage deployments, and maintain health of pipelines, collaborating with engineering and research teams.

This role requires 7+ years building production systems, strong Python/TypeScript, and Docker-based workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production systems.
• Proficient in Python or TypeScript.
• Experience shipping containerized services using Docker.
• Familiar with cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Based in the US and able to travel to the Bay Area if needed.
• Strong debugging and production ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end RL environments from scope to production.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to define build requirements.
• Design and release images, graders, and pipelines for production use.
• Maintain production health and investigate/fix incidents in deployments.
• Contribute to platform roadmap by translating lab feedback into improvements.
