Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Risk Engineering team. You will lead end-to-end projects, design robust systems, and collaborate with product, design, and data partners to deliver scalable risk capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, own technical direction, and help scale a large Ruby on Rails and TypeScript/React app. Expect on-call rotation and active participation in reliability and security improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience applying AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and documentation.
• Owns a project end-to-end from design through rollout with cross-functional teams.
• Sets technical direction and tradeoffs between customer and tech needs.
• Able to simplify complex problems and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Collaborative, test-driven mindset and strong documentation skills.
• Experience building fault-tolerant, scalable software.
• Ability to mentor engineers and improve team performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test infrastructure capabilities for Risk products.
• Lead end-to-end projects from technical design through rollout with product/design/data partners.
• Scale a large Ruby/Rails and TypeScript/React application.
• Serve as a domain expert for Risk platform capabilities.
• Set stakeholder expectations on timelines and progress.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a high-performing team.
• Address technical debt and quality improvements within the domain.
• Participate in on-call rotation and postmortem actions.
