McCarthy Holdings, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Risk Manager to support our Renewables and Battery Storage (BESS) business units. You will review contracts, assess risk transfer, and coordinate with executives, legal, and project teams to secure appropriate protections.

The role requires sharp analytical skills, experience in construction insurance products, and the ability to manage insurance programs, bids, and claims through project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of 7 yrs. experience in a similar role for a Contractor, Broker, or Insurance Co.
• Experience within the Construction Industry, Renewables or Industrial preferred.
• Understanding of construction industry insurance products and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review Bid Documents and Specifications for new contracts.
• Prepare detailed Executive Summary upon completion of review of bid documents for Senior Management.
• Review insurance coverage issues related to construction contracts, lease agreements, subcontract agreements and consultant agreements with Corporate Legal, Business Unit Leadership and Construction Project Management and actively participate in contract negotiations.
• Evaluate, initiate and direct the appropriate insurance pricing and coverage recommendations for all new pursuits.
• Create insurance bid specifications for broker marketing and project coverage.
• Review, negotiate and approve project-specific policy forms to protect the project and company.
• Evaluate Owner supplied insurance and Subcontractor furnished insurance coverage for gaps and coverage adequacy.
• Assist broker with CCIPs development, rollout and monitoring at project site.
• Ensure project-specific insurance coverage and bonds are managed through lifecycle.
• Assist with completing all required insurance applications for coverage renewals.
• Assist in review, comparison and negotiation of McCarthy purchased policies.
• Assist in data compilation for annual renewal of property and casualty program.
• Compile and maintain statistical reports as required.
• Participate / lead insurance and risk transfer training with Field Operation partners.
• Maintain RMIS records and manage assigned tasks.
• Assist Claims Team in investigation and disposition of liability claims.
