Description

Applies advanced knowledge of risk management programs, practices, and concepts to help leadership identify and mitigate potential risks across multiple verticals and disciplines, including third-party and vendor risk, operational risk, internal audit, data privacy, and business continuity planning.

Essential Functions

1. Work with leadership to build and manage best-in-class risk programs and control environments.
2. Monitor the effectiveness of controls and advise business owners on current or potential exposure points and automation opportunities.
3. Analyze scorecards and performance management tools to identify trends, control gaps, or losses; collaborate with business leaders to mitigate exposure.
4. Ensure business owners are prepared to demonstrate full command of operating risks to stakeholders by supporting leadership in developing and implementing risk appetite frameworks.
5. Assist in designing, collecting, tracking, and reporting key operational and vendor risk metrics for senior leadership.
6. Mentor and guide junior team members in their daily activities.
7. Assess risks and implement actions to address root causes of operational risk losses, challenging existing practices when necessary.
8. Resolve complex issues through strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
9. Partner with information security and legal teams to support data privacy initiatives related to vendors.
10. Ensure prompt and effective actions to address significant issues and risks.
11. Develop and maintain relationships with business users to understand and meet customer requirements amid changing environments.
12. Oversee preparation of operational risk event reports and presentations for governance, leadership, and regulatory bodies.
13. Support audits and regulatory examinations as needed.
14. Update operational and vendor risk management policies and procedures as required.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 15 years of experience in risk management
• Senior-level experience with risk methodologies related to audit, vendor risk, and data privacy/security
