Job summary

Riveron is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Risk Advisory group in Detroit. The role involves evaluating internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), guiding remediation roadmaps, and delivering risk assessments for client engagements.

You will collaborate with senior team members, develop client relationships, and apply SOX knowledge across engagements. Qualified candidates have a degree in accounting/finance, CPA/CIA/CISA preferred, and at least 3 years in external audit or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certification preferred: CPA, CIA, and/or CISA.
• Minimum 3 years experience in external audit or risk advisory roles.
• Knowledge of business risks, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), SOX, and COSO framework.
• Strong client relationship development and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand client objectives and regulatory/risk management environment.
• Assist projects in Sarbanes‑Oxley Compliance/Internal Controls.
• Perform ICFR risk assessments and remediation roadmaps.
• Assess design adequacy of internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Identify control gaps and design remediation plans for greenfield environments.
• Create internal controls process flows and risk/control matrices.
• Maintain COSO/COBIT auditing standards competency.
• Coordinate with project team and manage schedules/budgets.
