Job summary

Astrana Health seeks a Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist II to join our Strategy and Operations team in Monterey Park, CA. The role requires converting provider documentation into compliant HCC coding and educating providers on CMS requirements while traveling to provider sites as needed.

Qualified candidates hold CCS/CPC certification with 3+ years of risk adjustment coding experience, strong EHR skills, and the ability to work in a hybrid setting, including on-site visits and remote

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain AAPC or AHIMA certification – CCS and/or CPC.
• 3+ years experience in risk adjustment coding.
• Willing to travel at least 75% of work time.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation of diagnostic data from medical records to verify Medicare Advantage, ACA and commercial risk adjustment documentation requirements are met and educate providers.
• Review medical record information retrospectively and prospectively to identify, assess, monitor, and document HCC-related coding information.
• Perform code abstraction and/or coding quality audits to ensure ICD-10-CM codes are accurate and supported by documentation.
