Job summary

Cano Health is seeking a Risk Adjustment Coder III to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses from clinical records in line with established risk adjustment models. You will perform high-volume coding and chart reviews, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires CPC/CCS certification, 5 years of coding experience with risk adjustment, and proficiency with ICD-10-CM guidelines. Collaboration with clinical teams and ongoing education are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years of medical coding experience (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required.
• Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and risk adjustment methodologies.
• Experience with medical record review, documentation guidelines, and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes from medical records and encounter data per guidelines.
• Perform chart reviews to accurately capture diagnoses including HCC codes.
• Identify and correct coding discrepancies based on documentation and standards.
• Maintain required productivity and quality benchmarks for coding volume and accuracy.
• Apply CMS-HCC and other risk adjustment guidelines in daily work.
• Participate in routine coding audits and apply feedback to improve accuracy.
