Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Right of Way Agent for the Carolinas Region in Raleigh, NC. This part-time role requires strong ROW knowledge, land rights acquisition, and effective client communication.

You will review title reports, prepare offers, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting project teams. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, substantial ROW experience, and the ability to obtain a NC Real Estate license within 6 months.

• Significant Right of Way knowledge and experience.
• NC Real Estate license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• Ability to foster strong client relationships.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• IRWA RW, RWA or SRWA certification a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Acquires land, easements, and other rights for transportation and utility clients.
• Reviews title reports and prepares offers; manages documentation to comply with laws and regulations.
• Maintains project database and communicates status to clients and team.
• Assists Right of Way Manager with project management and staff development.
• Conducts negotiations with government and other entities; supports timely completion within budget.

We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Right of Way Agent to support our Carolinas Regionlocated in Raleigh, NC. This is a part-time position.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

What you'll be doing:

• Acquires land, easements, and other rights for our transportation & utility clients
• Reviews title reports
• Responsible for document preparation, ensuring compliance with all State, Federal & Local laws, & regulations
• Communicates directly with clients as directed - generating regular status and predictive reporting, frequent direct communication to assure timely completion of projects while staying within budget, high level of accountability
• Successful candidate possesses significant Right of Way knowledge & experience, superior communications skills, and an ability to foster a strong working relationship with the client & team
• Review site plans and prepare offer packages
• Maintain the project database
• Conduct special negotiations with government & other entities
• Assist Right of Way Manager with project management and staff training & development

What you need to have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Significant Right of Way knowledge & experience
• NC Real Estate license or the ability to obtain a NC Real Estate license within 6 months of hire date
• Ability to foster a strong working relationship with the client
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products
• Excellent analytical skills
• IRWA RW, RWA, or SRWA certification is a plus
• Relocation experience is desired but not required
• Able to use scheduling software
• Experience with forecasting and projections
• Possesses ability to effectively serve in both leadership and support roles on project teams
• Ability to listen to the client and translate into solutions that meet or exceed expectations
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Understand and execute oral and written instructions
• Perform efficiently and accurately while working on multiple projects
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Ability to demonstrate organizational skills, including attention to detail

• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
