Job summary

Bechtel Equipment Operations, Inc. is locating a Senior Rigging Engineer at the New Albany, OH site to support rigging and bull rigging processes for Phase 1 of the Ohio One project. The role provides technical support to construction personnel and integrates lifting plans with engineering layouts.

The successful candidate will prepare lift plans, select cranes and equipment, and ensure compliance with Bechtel standards and safety guidelines, coordinating with subcontractors and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and 5–8 years relevant experience, or 9–12 years experience.
• Expert knowledge of lifting equipment, heavy lift cranes, and rigging systems.
• Familiar with ASME B30.20 BTH-1 and safety standards.
• Strong CAD drafting ability (AutoCAD preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepares rigging plans, calculations, and specifications for rigging material and lift equipment.
• Prepares bull rigging plans as required for the project under Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineers direction.
• Reviews / approves bull rigging plans as required under Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineers direction.
• Reviews and approves heavy or oversize/overweight haul plans and medium, critical, or heavy lift plans prior to work start.
• Selects crane(s), lifting hardware, and equipment for safe lifting operations.
• Maintains contact with engineering regarding plant layout, design, and load verification.
• Serves as a point of contact for lift/haul plan preparation and reviews with subcontractors and vendors.
• Works with safety personnel regarding rigging-related safety procedures.
