Job summary

The Department of the Navy is seeking a RIGGER LEADER to support multiple shipyards across the continental U.S. and abroad, including Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Facility Bangor and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.

You will lead a small trade team, ensure materials and equipment are available and safe, and assign tasks to crew members.

Qualifications

• This job has a screen-out element: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical trade leadership to a small working group.
• Ensure necessary materials, tools and equipment are available and safe to use.
• Recommend task assignments for each crew member.
• Instruct subordinates on any unusual work steps or requirements, including safety.
