Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies seeks an experienced RF test engineer to develop automated RF test systems for ECUs, including Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, UWB, NFC, and GNSS modules. You will own end-to-end test development, from requirements to deployment, and collaborate with RF, antenna, and electronics teams.

The role emphasizes Python-based test sequences, firmware/hardware integration, and deployment in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent work experience in Electrical, Electronics, or RF Engineering.
• 5+ years designing automated test equipment (ATE) for electronics with RF focus.
• Hands-on testing experience on two or more RF/wireless technologies (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, UWB, NFC, GNSS).
• Experience with RF test instrumentation such as vector signal analyzers/generators, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, GNSS simulators, power meters, RF switch matrices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of automated RF test solutions for connectivity and vehicle access ECUs from requirements to deployment.
• Design and build automated test equipment for wireless technologies including OTA setups and RF fixtures.
• Define test strategies for TX power, EVM, sensitivity, spurious emissions, and throughput with input from design teams.
• Develop Python test sequences and ensure code quality within the automation framework.
• Coordinate deployment at Rivian labs and contract manufacturers, including test station replication.
