Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies seeks a senior embedded Wi‑Fi engineer to drive wireless projection across Android and vehicle networks. You will own connection management, IPv6 routing, and security policies while coordinating with silicon vendors and test labs.

You will contribute to CarPlay/Android Auto readiness, design RF‑aware strategies, and mentor teammates, ensuring robust, scalable connectivity in our next‑gen platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of embedded software experience with substantial depth in Wi‑Fi.
• Strong experience with the Android Wi‑Fi stack and embedded Linux Wi‑Fi.
• Strong C/C++ skills with Java/Kotlin at the Android framework level.
• Solid Linux networking fundamentals: IPv6, routing, iptables.
• Solid 802.11 protocol knowledge (n/ac/ax) for AP and station operation.
• Proven wireless debugging skills with OTA sniffer captures and logs.
• Experience collaborating with Wi‑Fi silicon or module vendors on issues.

Responsibilities

• Bring up and enable Wi‑Fi on the next‑gen platform through the Android Wi‑Fi stack and validate behavior.
• Own the connection‑management logic behind wireless projection and meet CarPlay/Android Auto specs.
• Own the network‑management layer for IPv6, routing, and firewall rules across regulatory domains.
• Design for RF realities: channel selection, DFS, and antenna sharing/coexistence.
• Isolate and drive driver/firmware issues with silicon vendors and validate fixes.
• Lead Wi‑Fi Alliance certification readiness and coordinate with test labs.
• Support CarPlay and Android Auto certification as the wireless SME.
• Build validation and automation for session scenarios and throughput tests.
• Write design docs, mentor engineers, and raise Wi‑Fi expertise.
