Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Hardware Engineer - Principal Manufacturing Test Engineering (RF Systems) based in Rolling Meadows, IL. The role focuses on test software development from requirements to validation, supporting RF production hardware, and coordinating with design and manufacturing teams to ensure qualification and environmental screening.

Candidates should have a strong background in electrical/computer engineering, programming experience (C#, C, Java, LabWindows

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; OR a Master of Science (MS) degree in equivalent fields with 3 or more years of experience.
• Experience with programming languages such as C#, C, Java or Lab Windows CVI
• Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, or firmware issues

Responsibilities

• Review and updates to hardware governing how test equipment operates; coordinate with multiple teams to meet testing and environmental screening commitments.
• Hardware design – schematics, coding & integration/validation; provide solutions to meet testing requirements.
• Test procedure development and maintenance for Manufacturing Acceptance testing and Environmental Screening, including fixtures and test equipment drawings.
• Continuous improvement: analyze quality metrics to reduce cost, cycle time, and defects.
• Testability reviews: collaborate with design engineering for testability in new designs.
• Test station/fixture development: design and maintain fixtures and stations for functional and environmental testing.
• Interface with leadership, clients, and vendors
