Job summary

GL Staffing in Orlando, FL seeks a skilled PCB Design Engineer to join our engineering team and support the development of RF, microwave, analog, digital, and mixed-signal PCB designs. You will convert schematics into production-ready layouts while maximizing signal integrity, managing controlled-impedance traces, and ensuring manufacturability and compliance with IPC standards.

Collaboration with design, manufacturing, and QA teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional PCB layout/design experience.
• Experience with RF, microwave, or other high-frequency PCB applications is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify PCB layouts for single- and multilayer circuit boards.
• Develop layouts for RF, microwave, analog, digital, and mixed-signal applications.
• Convert schematics into production-ready PCB layouts.
• Design and maintain controlled-impedance transmission lines, including microstrip, stripline, and CPWG configurations.
• Determine optimal component placement and routing to improve signal integrity and reduce parasitic effects.
• Incorporate grounding, shielding, isolation, and coupling-control techniques into RF designs.
• Consider phase noise, spurious signals, thermal performance, oscillator stability, and signal fidelity.
• Work with engineers to ensure layouts meet requirements.
• Implement design practices that reduce EMI/EMC issues and crosstalk.
• Create and maintain PCB manufacturing and assembly documentation.
• Prepare production files such as Gerber/ODB++, drill files, and stack-up documentation.
• Develop PCB stack-ups using RF materials (e.g., Rogers).
• Evaluate dielectric properties and loss tangent effects on high-frequency performance.
• Coordinate with PCB manufacturers on tolerances and cost.
