Job summary

Reach is seeking a senior Microwave Engineer in California to join its RF engineering team and drive design, simulation and implementation of microwave systems for wireless power beaming. You will own high‑frequency power amplifiers, contribute to antenna integration and work across PM, Mechanical, RF and EE groups in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS degree in electrical or RF engineering (PhD preferred).
• 10+ years of experience as a microwave engineer or equivalent.
• Expert with EM simulation software (HFSS and HFSS SBR+), CST, and circuit simulation tools, such as Keysight ADS.
• Hands on experience using spectrum analyzer, VNA, signal generator, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer.
• Fluent with PCB layout techniques for distributed-element components implementation.
• Experience developing hardware and testing for Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, RF to DC power conversion.
• Hands on experience debugging in the lab. Defining a test process and executing it with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work cross-functionally.
• In-depth understanding of safety EMI and EMC compliance and certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, simulation and implementation of distributed-element components.
• Contribute to the integration with antenna, and antenna arrays.
• Design and implement high efficiency power amplifiers at high frequency from 5GHz to 24GHz.
• Drive the investigation, study, and introduction of new components and subsystems.
• Collaborate with PM/Mechanical/RF/EE teams for system level design, integration and testing.
• Collaborate with other engineers to perform system bring up, troubleshooting and system test.
• Product design documentation using Reach PLM system.
• Support certification and regulatory testing. Support field testing.
• Write validation test plans for mmWave components and system level evaluation.
