Job summary

General Atomics is hiring a Senior RF Design Engineer within GA-EMS Radar Technologies to lead RF designs and trade studies for air and ground-based systems. The engineer will report to Hardware Engineering and collaborate across hardware, software, and systems teams to meet demanding specifications.

The role requires advanced RF design expertise, strong communication, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

  • Requires advanced degree in engineering or related field with extensive RF design experience.
  • Proven expertise simulating and designing RF circuits and subsystems.
  • Experience with RF measurement techniques and lab equipment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across multiple teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
  • Experience with radar or EW systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Simulate and design RF circuits and subsystems for future air and ground-based systems.
  • Develop RF design requirements from high-level system performance specifications.
  • Perform design trade studies including gain, output power, noise figure, cost, ease of manufacturing.
  • Bench-level evaluation and troubleshooting of RF designs and subsystems.
  • Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Systems engineering teams to drive development of subsystems.
  • Represent the company at technical reviews, meetings and formal design reviews.
  • Stay current with RF industry innovations, developments and trends.
