Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA‑EMS) is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer focused on Phased Array and Beamforming Architecture to shape the core architecture of next‑generation radar apertures and digital beamforming systems.

You will lead architecture, design, and system‑level analysis across antenna/array design, RF front‑end, and processing hardware, collaborating with multiple engineering teams to ensure coherent integration and performance.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires advanced engineering degree and extensive experience in radar systems and beamforming.
  • Experience with digital beamforming architectures and array design is essential.
  • Experience with MATLAB; Python or C/C++ is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and system-level design for phased array and DBF of radar systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to align DBF with RF front-end architectures.
  • Develop models/simulations and perform design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
  • Support integration, testing, and calibration to validate beamforming performance.
