Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Rochester, NY seeks a Sr. Electronic Engineer to join the Sustaining Engineering Team and perform product engineering on high power RF and DC generators used in semiconductor fabrication.

You will design changes to ensure top-quality products and create, analyze and validate new assemblies or derivative designs. You will work with cross‑functional teams including design, application, manufacturing and test engineers, while interfacing with customers to solve on‑site

Qualifications

• BS in Electronic Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of related RF/DC experience.
• Strong curiosity to understand root causes of failures.

Responsibilities

• Sustain and improve high power RF generators up to 100 kW.
• Analyze root causes of yield loss and returns.
• Provide corrective actions and document results.
• Plan RF/DC testing, circuit analysis, troubleshooting, modeling, and failure Duplication.
• Support engineering and communicate with suppliers and customers.
