Job summary

TRS-RenTelco in Dallas is seeking a Calibration Technician to calibrate, test and repair electronic test equipment in our lab. You will follow established procedures and document actions in the inventory system.

You will lead or assist on complex problems, ensure traceability to standards, and support customers with technical setup and issue resolution. On-site role with exposure to lab environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years electrical metrology experience with strong focus on RF calibration.
• Strong knowledge of the theory of operation, calibration, repair and maintenance of electronic test equipment.
• Wide knowledge of electronic test equipment.
• Basic computer skills to maintain equipment history databases and to control computer operated test equipment.
• Experience with ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSLI Z540-1 and Z540.3 calibration systems.
• Strong customer focus, teamwork, organizational and communication skills.
• High Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair electronic test equipment to component level.
• Lead or assist other technicians with complex problems and priority of work.
• Follow procedures and customer requirements for inbound/outbound equipment and outbound orders.
• Document actions in the software-driven inventory management system.
• Ensure calibrations are traceable to national standards or equivalent.
• Assist customers with technical issues and setup of equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab area and equipment.
• Functionally test units using detailed procedures with limited deviation.
• Calibrate equipment using manual or automated procedures and substitute standards when needed.
• Identify parts and accessories related to the equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair and adjust units using schematics and manuals.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
• Enhance department reputation by ownership of goals.
