Job summary

Safran Federal Systems in Rochester, NY seeks a senior electrical engineer to design, develop and test PCBs and electrical hardware for defense and critical applications. You will own schematic capture, layout, simulations and hardware validation across RF, analog and digital domains.

Collaborating with software, mechanical and manufacturing teams, you will drive projects from concept through validation, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD and EMI/EMC standards while delivering reliable, scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience; Master’s degree with 2+ years accepted.
• Experience in RF and/or electrical hardware design and validation.
• Hands-on PCB and board layout experience.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro or OrCAD.
• Knowledge of high-speed design, EMI/EM considerations, thermal management and manufacturability.
• Familiarity with FCC, EL, CE and MIL-STD testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, build and test PCB prototypes; lead smaller projects.
• Design, develop and test electrical hardware systems and components.
• Perform circuit design, simulation and analysis (analog, digital, RF).
• Support system-level performance analyses including impedance, noise and signal integrity.
• Design, simulate, and validate power supplies, filters and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain electrical specifications and design documentation.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical and manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Lead cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Maintain design documentation including schematics, layouts and BOMs.
• Ensure compliance with MIL-STD, EMI/EMC and safety standards.
• Develop relationships with vendors and suppliers; support transition to production.
