Job summary

Dentsu Aegis Network Ltd. in New York is seeking a Revenue Accounting Analyst to protect the integrity of client financial data and link it to systems for proper revenue recognition. You will work with Finance and Client Services to ensure accurate monthly closes and contract assurance.

This role offers a hybrid schedule with three days in the New York office and two remote days, a salary range around $82.8k–$85k, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching and generous PTO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years experience in a finance/accounting role.
  • Familiarity with D365, MediaOcean, Nexelus or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Review revenue recognition criteria and ensure IFRS 15 compliance.
  • Maintain revenue recognition schedules for portfolio clients.
  • Assist with month-end close and variance explanations.
  • Support contract maintenance and assurance per company policies.

Job description

The Revenue Accounting Analyst plays an active role in the newly centralized and specialised Revenue Accounting team. They will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of client financial data and linking it to operational and financial systems for appropriate revenue recognition. This role is also responsible to ensure client contract assurance is conducted according to the service line compliance framework and dentsu policies and reports to the Manager, Revenue Accounting. This role reports to the Manager of Revenue Accounting and works closely with the Commercial Finance, Financial Control, Operational Finance and Client Services teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Assurance and Contract Maintenance Review the Statements of Work and determine proper revenue recognition criteria and ensure compliance with dentsu policies and dentsu policies and reports to the Manager, Revenue Accounting.
  • Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with the contractual terms is and compliant with IFRS 15.
  • Ensure that statements of work/POs are compliant and assessed for potential risks.
  • Ensure that statements of work/POs are agreed and signed before work is undertaken.
  • Fulfil information requests for internal, external financial and client audits.
  • Create and update monthly revenue recognition schedule for all portfolio clients.
  • Work closely with Commercial Finance, Client Teams, and FP&A as it relates to revenue forecasting.
  • Work closely with Client Teams to build relationships and understanding the service offerings and deliverables provided.
  • Ensure appropriate revenue recognition during the period-end while ensuring all necessary accruals are properly reviewed and approved.
  • Review month-end variances to forecasted revenue by providing detailed explanations to the Commercial Finance and Client Teams surrounding the variances.
  • Perform month end tasks to verify client revenue and the review of the accrued and deferred income balance sheet accounts.
  • Supply the Commercial Finance Team with key information to feed into the forecasting process.
  • Maintain a robust audit trail for revenue accounting and reporting.
  • Participate in and provide the required inputs for the month-end close review meeting with Commercial Finance and Financial Control teams.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the processes for reporting revenues.
  • Provide input in analysing and reporting changes to revenue and revenue-related balance sheet lines ensuring that risk items are identified and actively managed.
  • Liaise with Operations Team to ensure the accuracy of client invoicing.
  • Assist with review of unbilled amounts with Operational Finance and Client Teams.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Experience in a similar finance/accounting role (1-2 years)
  • Knowledge of D365, MediaOcean, Nexelus or similar client job costing/media booking and accounting platforms
  • Excellent IT skills and experience using the Microsoft D365 accounting system desirable

Working Arrangements and Location

The anticipated salary range for this position is ($82,800-$85,000).
