Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform key accounting functions for domestic and international operations. You will advise on GAAP compliance and drive accurate reporting to support decision making.

This role offers exposure to ASC 606 revenue recognition, contract reviews, and cross-functional collaboration. You will develop KPIs, improve processes, and ensure timely close and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.
• 2–3 years accounting or related experience.
• Solid math aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and close revenue accruals for monthly close.
• Perform reconciliations for key accounts (deferred revenue/costs, unbilled AR, unearned revenue).
• Review contracts for proper revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Prepare ad hoc reporting for stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Maintain key controls in the Record-to-Report process.
• Document processes and drive improvements.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate reporting.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Analyze and calculate revenue accruals during the month-end close
• Perform and review reconciliations for key accounts, including deferred revenue, deferred costs, unbilled accounts receivable, and unearned revenue
• Review new customer contracts to determine proper revenue recognition (in accordance to ASC 606), lease accounting, etc.
• erform ad hoc reporting to support multiple stakeholders in a cross-functional matrix environment, balancing their needs and perspectives to maximize the company’s interest
• Perform and ensure key controls within the Record-to-Report process are in place and functioning effectively
• Prepare process documentation for key processes
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to drive process improvement
• Develop and monitor KPIs that track progress toward continuous improvement
• Ensure accurate and timely compilation of accounting information, analysis, and reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures
• Other duties, as assigned

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 2-3 years of accounting or related experience
• Solid math aptitude
• Excellent written and verbal skills

It’d be great if you also have:

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• CPA certification
• 5 or more years of accounting or financial reporting experience, including public accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle), Oracle Projects, Microsoft BI, Blackline, and related technologies
• Experience reviewing contracts
• Solid ability to understand and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources
