Job summary

SpectrumCareers is seeking a Senior Accountant – Revenue with a strong ASC 606 background to support a growing finance organization in Washington, DC. The role partners with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, timely processing, and resolution of billing issues.

The candidate will apply technical accounting expertise, perform revenue accounting tasks, and contribute to scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of direct ASC 606 revenue recognition experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles.
• Experience reviewing contracts and applying revenue recognition guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support revenue accounting operations and ensure ASC 606 compliance.
• Process, review, and analyze revenue transactions in the ERP system.
• Perform month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Review customer contracts to determine revenue recognition treatment.
• Monitor billed and unbilled revenue balances and ensure timely billing.
• Collaborate with Billing, FP&A, Contracts, and other Finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
