Job Overview

As Senior, Revenue Accounting, you will participate in all aspects of revenue accounting functions including contract review, revenue recognition, revenue-related processes and controls, and revenue systems, while ensuring timely and accurate revenue reporting. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiencies and support the company's growth and financial objectives.

Job Description and Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform the review process on multi-obligation contracts, ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP/ASC 606, relevant accounting standards, and company revenue accounting policies.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Billing, Product, Revenue Operations, Sales, and Legal teams on new products, initiatives, contract review, and deal structuring, assessing impacts to revenue recognition.

  • Perform revenue-related month-end close processes including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, and performing analytical review and fluctuation analysis on revenue to support accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Adhere to internal controls for revenue accounting, ensuring proper documentation.

  • Focus on continuous improvement of revenue processes, policies, and procedures that leverage technology, maximize efficiency, and provide scalability to support company growth.

  • Assist with periodic stand-alone selling price analysis.

  • Lead or assist with research and preparation of revenue-related technical accounting memos and position papers.

  • Assist with preparation of revenue-related schedules, financial statements, and disclosures for internal and external reporting purposes.

  • Participate in periodic external audits, special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc requests related to revenue accounting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on revenue recognition.

  • Robust understanding of US GAAP, ASC 606, and revenue recognition principles.

  • Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS, software, or technology-related company is highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and revenue management tools, preferably Salesforce, Sage Intacct, Zuora, or similar applications.

  • Emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.

  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documentation.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

This position is eligible for total compensation including a competitive base salary, annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

The expected salary range is between $74,000 and $110,000. The final offer will depend on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal pay equity, with hiring typically at the lower to mid-range to allow for future salary growth.
