Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join the Revenue Recognition team in a hybrid role based in Draper, UT. You will oversee day-to-day revenue accounting under ASC 606, review multi-element SaaS arrangements, and drive improvements in the revenue cycle with ERP and related systems.

The ideal candidate has SaaS revenue recognition experience, CPA or CPA candidate status is a plus, and thrives in cross-functional collaboration while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• Experience in SaaS/software revenue recognition.
• Proficiency in ASC 606 and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform deal reviews on multi-element SaaS and software arrangements to ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Contribute to revenue process and system improvements (ERP and related projects).
• Prepare analyses, journal entries, and account reconciliations; participate in monthly close.
• Assist in audit requests and SOX 404 compliance activities.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.

In this role, you will report to the Manager, Revenue Recognition and be responsible for the day-to-day revenue accounting as part of a broader team. The ideal candidate will be one who is a proactive learner, takes initiative, and is a great team player.
