Job summary

Vestwell is expanding its Retirement Services team and seeks a Senior Specialist who will interpret ERISA and related laws to consult, amend, and maintain compliant retirement plan documents. You will collaborate with Plan Sponsors and internal teams to ensure plan documents align with Vestwell’s platform.

Based in our New York City or Austin offices with hybrid in-office arrangement, this role offers base salary $75K-$85K plus bonus and eligibility for new hire equity.

Qualifications

• Subject matter expertise in ERISA and related regulations.
• Experience with qualified/non-qualified plans and plan design.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan Design Consultation: collaborate with Plan Sponsors to create optimal defined contribution plan designs.
• Plan Document Review: perform plan spec review and capture decisions for new documents.
• Regulatory Interpretation & Compliance: interpret ERISA and related laws to draft compliant documents.
• Plan Document Drafting & Maintenance: prepare documents and disclosures consistent with design decisions.
• Independent Judgment & Analysis: assess design requests with minimal supervision.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with Onboarding, Retirement Plan Administration, Client Success and Employer Services.
• Process & Documentation Improvement: support process reviews and audit support.
• Project Management: design and manage workflows for large-scale document projects.
• Product & Automation Support: partner with Product teams to improve automation.
