Job summary

Perry Ellis International, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Business Planner to drive end-to-end financial planning and performance for a major account.

You will collaborate with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and the account's Buying and Planning teams to forecast sales, margin, and inventory, while mentoring junior planners. The role emphasizes strategic planning, data-driven decision making, and strong cross-functional leadership to achieve financial goals and optimize inventory across the retail

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in retail merchandise planning, financial planning, or a highly analytical business role.
• Advanced proficiency in retail math, OTB management, financial modeling, and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, synthesize key findings, and present clear, strategic recommendations to leadership.
• Superior written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to influence decisions cross‑functionally and externally with retail buying teams.
• Strong, independent self‑starter with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and goal achievement for end‑to‑end financial plans and brand strategies.
• Lead pre‑season planning for replenishment and assortment building at the brand level.
• Serve as planning expert and point of contact for the assigned account with internal and external partners.
• Own weekly analysis of selling reports, identify trends and variances, and recommend pricing and inventory actions.
• Develop complex inventory sell‑off strategies and collaborate with leadership to maximize profitability.
