Retail Planner
Position Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Retail Planner to support inventory optimization, assortment planning, and sales forecasting for key retail accounts. This role plays a vital part in aligning product availability with retailer demand and collaborating cross-functionally to meet financial objectives. Experience in retail planning at a national retail chain is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with retailer planning teams to determine item-level and program investments, forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and support sales targets.
- Forecast company demand and oversee inventory pipeline for both replenishment and seasonal buys on a weekly basis.
- Work with merchandising and product teams to align sales trends with seasonal product development.
- Analyze historical sales data, sell-through rates, and market trends to guide planning decisions.
- Monitor inventory pipeline weekly and provide monthly performance summaries to recommend adjustments.
- Prepare post-season and ad-hoc reports.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with sales, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Partner with finance to align planning metrics with budget and margin goals.
- Communicate forecast changes and their impacts to stakeholders.
Systems & Process Management:
- Maintain accuracy of internal and retailer-specific planning tools.
- Drive continuous improvements to enhance planning efficiency and agility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field.
- MUST have 3–5 years of retail planning experience, preferably in jewelry, fashion, or accessories with national retailers (If you do not have this, please do not apply)
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, retail math, and planning systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
