Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to oversee retail construction projects from mobilization through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of commercial/retail construction experience, be adept at reading blueprints, managing subcontractors and field operations, coordinating schedules, safety, and client expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Strong retail construction experience highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field operations on commercial and retail construction projects
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
• Maintain project schedules and coordinate upcoming activities
• Lead daily site meetings and communicate project updates
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents
• Coordinate inspections and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications
• Monitor project quality and address issues in a timely manner
• Maintain a safe and organized jobsite
• Enforce company and OSHA safety standards
• Track materials, deliveries, manpower, and site logistics
• Identify potential scheduling or construction issues and work with the project team to resolve them
• Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
• Maintain daily reports, site documentation, and project records
• Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and turnover
